Multi-vehicle accident in Chicago neighborhood injures 8

by | Feb 12, 2014 | Uncategorized

Before many Chicago residents have even gotten out of their beds, local police, fire and rescue crews are ready and waiting to respond to the many motor vehicle accidents that happen across the metropolitan area during the early morning hours. A recent early morning crash had many of those first responders performing life-saving tasks before the sun was up.

A three-car accident in Chicago’s Archer Heights area occurred shortly before five a.m. and involved 11 people. The multi-vehicle crash caused one of the three vehicles to roll over and sent eight of the eleven individuals to the hospital. Several of the people may have sustained serious injuries though three of the individuals taken to the hospital were listed in good condition.

Police have released few details on why this accident occurred though an accident investigation may provide more facts about how so many people came to be affected by the incident. During the winter months it is always possible that weather played a part in the crash, but individuals who choose to operate their cars during snowy or icy times run the risk of causing accidents for which they may ultimately be held responsible.

In this case, the individual or individuals who are responsible for causing the crash may be liable for many damages. In addition to the costs of repairing the involved cars, the responsible parties may have their own medical costs, plus those of many others, to pay for. Other damages for pain and suffering, loss of earning potential and others may also cause the liable party’s liability to grow.

While first responders can help people in accidents get the medical help they require, the individuals who cause the accidents are often financially accountable for making the accident victims whole. For those Chicago residents who have questions about car accident damages, personal injury attorneys are available to be contacted for consultation.
