Unfortunately, many serious car crashes occur every day on the streets of Chicago. There are a variety of factors that might cause a car accident. Some factors include distracted driving, alcohol consumption, or medical conditions.
Recently, a 71 year-old Chicago bus driver suffered a medical condition that caused the driver to lose control of the bus. The loss of control caused a string of accidents that finally ended when the bus collided with a taxi. The bus then collided with cars on the street as the driver ran a red light. Both the driver of the taxi and the driver of the bus were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Fortunately, the bus, owned by a private company and leased to a local school district, did not have any passengers. The bus was headed to pick up students at a local school when the accident occurred. The police are investigating the incident, as is the bus company. The company reports that the driver has been an employee with the company for 15 years. The status of the driver with the company remains undecided pending the conclusion of the police investigation.
