Newlywed killed in Chicago-area car accident

For most married couples in Chicago, memories of their wedding days are filled with happy images and pleasant reminders. They remember the people who came to share in their day, the special moment of exchanging vows and the fun of celebrating at their receptions. Few experience the tragedy that one newly married couple faced as it departed its wedding reception.

The couple, who had married just a few hours earlier in the day, was on its way to a hotel when it noticed a vehicle that had gone off of the road. They stopped their truck and the new husband got out to assist the distressed motorist. After helping the distressed female driver get back on the correct side of the road, she and the new groom were struck by another vehicle.

The pair was then hit an additional two times by two more automobiles. The new bride got out of her truck to check on the others but found that neither had any pulse. Both the distressed motorist and the new groom were killed in the tragic incident.

Investigators are looking into whether this horrific event could have been the result of a drunk driving accident. While car accidents injure and kill many people in Chicago each year, the details of this accident are particularly heartbreaking given the circumstances of the newly married man who only wanted to help someone in need.

As the families of the two victims work through the pain and suffering of their losses, the new bride will have to cope with losing her husband only a few hours after committing her life to him. In the wake of this tragedy, she will likely rely on the love and support of her friends and family and may consider speaking with a legal professional about the potentially negligent or reckless driving that caused her husband’s death.
