Man killed by speeding driver in multi-vehicle Chicago accident

Despite their best efforts, some Chicago-area drivers find themselves driving in excess of posted speed limits while out on the roads. Although driving over the speed limit is always breaking the law, some drivers try to justify their actions by stating that they are just keeping up with traffic, in complete control of their vehicles or other explanations for why their driving infractions are reasonable. While not all speeders are ticketed by law enforcement, speeding is a dangerous practice that can end with terrible results.

A local man was recently killed by a speeding vehicle driver when that vehicle crashed into his car. In addition to hitting the deceased’s vehicle, the negligent driver also hit a pedestrian and two other vehicles. As a result of the speeding driver’s actions, five people were hurt in addition to the fatality. Police officers have the responsible driver in custody at a local hospital.

This car accident provides a solid example of how the actions of a single negligent driver can impact the lives of many other people. In addition to suffering personal injuries, the driver has caused extensive property damage to the other vehicles and medical costs to the injured parties. For the family members of the deceased victim, the negligent driver has cost them the loss of a loved one, financial expenses for funeral costs and the loss of any income that the victim may have provided to them.

The victims of this accident may experience pain and suffering for some time after their injuries mend and their property is repaired. Though finding closure will be very challenging for all of the victims and especially the family of the deceased, pursuing legal recourse may at least provide financial compensation to those who were negatively impacted by the actions of the negligent driver.
