Car crashes occur every day in hundreds of cities across the country, and Chicago is not immune. Unfortunately, a car accident can be devastating for those involved. Sometimes tragic accidents can be fatal. Accidents like those leave victims and their estates searching for compensation.

Recently, a woman was killed in Chicago when the car she was driving collided with a semi-truck. The woman was struck when the car she was driving ran in to the truck, which was making a left hand turn, coming from the other direction. The woman died later at the hospital. The truck driver did not suffer any injuries.

When a person is killed in a car accident their family can be left to deal with the medical bills and funeral expenses. Often the family seeks some form of compensation. Sometimes the families seek compensation from the insurance company, and sometimes they seek compensation from the other driver in the accident.

When a victim of a car accident is killed, the family of the victim can file a lawsuit on the behalf of the victim and seek compensation on the behalf of their deceased family member. The procedure for the lawsuit is the same as if the victim were filing the lawsuit on their own behalf.

However, the family must prove that the driver of the other car was driving negligently. They must prove that the driver was not driving within the normal care expected of drivers. If the family can prove negligence, then they will be able to recover for the loss.
