Erb's Palsy occurs when the upper brachial plexus is paralyzed. Erb's palsy typically affects the arm and shoulder. Klumpke's Palsy occurs when the lower brachial plexus is paralyzed. Klumpke's Palsy can affect the child's hand. Symptoms of a brachial plexus injury may be immediately present at birth. Sometimes, the injury is temporary, sometimes there is permanent injury.
